Q & A WITH KIMBERLY
Not a regular spa-goer? Have questions you don't know how to ask?
We have decided to add a question and answer page to our web site. All the questions are typical of a first time client, and are taken directly from emails and phone calls from people like you.
Q: "Kimberly, what kind of experience would a new client expect from Kimberly Spa?"
A: "They can expect high level customer service, comfort, and knowing that this spa knows what they are doing!"
Q: "What about men's spa services at Kimberly Spa?"
A: "Men are always welcome! We offer a wide variety of popular men's
massage, facials and waxing, providing everything from monthly grooming maintenance to the
complete spa package experience. Men really enjoy our private setting, also. With appointment staggering,
touch screen check-in, and french doors separating the lobby from the spa,
our male clients tend to like the no-nonsense spa environment."
Q: "What should I do to prepare for my first facial?"
A: "If you are coming in the morning, avoid putting any makeup on. Cleanse and moisturize your skin before leaving home and wear comfortable clothing. If you are concerned about your hair style, bring a hat or hair band to pull it back afterwards. We offer a Ladies Lounge to help you prepare yourself for the rest of your day... including a full shower, blow dryers, lighted makeup mirrors... all in a comfortable powder room setting. If you have a workout regimen, we recommend that you not workout for 12 hours after having your treatment."
Q: "What if I don't know what kind of facial to get?"
A: "That is where a consultation over the phone should take place. We do recommend starting out with a Stress Relief Facial, particularly if you've never had a facial before... or if it's been longer than 3 months since your last facial. Within the Stress Relief Facial treatment, we check to see how your skin reacts, and it also gives you an opportunity to get to know the spa and the esthetician you'll be working with. Usually when you're coming into a spa for the first time, you are a little nervous. This facial will relieve the stress of your skin, your body and your mind... while giving us an opportunity to really get to know your skin so that we can make an educated decision on where to go from there if you have serious skin issues."
Q: "What should I do to prepare for my first Brazilian Wax?"
A: "Up to a couple hours before coming in, shower, gently exfoliate the area to be waxed and apply a body moisturizer. You must make sure that the hair growth is at least ¼ inch long because the wax needs to have something to adhere to in order to have an effective waxing. If your hair is very long, do not trim it. Your service provider can take care of that for you.
Q: "Do men come to the spa often?"
A: "We actually have a significant male clientele. Men like the privacy of the spa, and they appreciate feeling confident with the knowledge our service providers display. Most males have had a history of breakouts that have not been treated with proper treatments, nor the right products and maybe picking. We recognize this and can offer help in this area.
Our services cross both genders, and our products are scientifically formulated to help reduce past abuse to facial skin. Kimberly Spa treats the problems with results oriented services, and men should understand and feel comfortable in knowing they also sometimes need hair removal from their nose, ears, and eyebrows to give them a groomed appearance."
Q: "Why are the doors locked that lead from the reception area to the spa?"
A: "The doors are locked to create privacy for our guests at the time of their treatments. This also gives you a sense of privacy when you're waiting in our comfortable and homey lobby/reception area. When you check in at the touch screen kiosk in the reception area, the system pages your personal service provider and lets them know that you have arrived for your appointment. You will be greeted by your own personal service provider, and you end your time at the spa with your service provider. You are never handed off to a receptionist that can keep you waiting on the phone with other guests, or talking with other guests etc. My experience working in spas that have receptionists has given me insight into how important it is for our guests to have their service provider's complete and total attention. This helps to build a personal relationship with your service provider. If you need to use the restroom facilities after you have checked in for your appointment, check in again that you are "here for other reasons" and a spa coordinator will escort you to the restroom or help with whatever you need."
Q: "What makes Kimberly Spa different from getting my pedicure or manicure at a cheaper salon?"
A: "We use odorless nail enhancement products and our sanitation levels are at their highest. We will never hide sub-standard products in deceiving containers, such as using Windex as a sanitation spray, for example. Our pedicure chair is completely sanitizable and pipe-less. We take time to thoroughly clean and sanitize our tools and pedicure chair in- between every client. Our Hand and Foot Spa provides a private tranquil setting that both men and women will be able to enjoy with complete privacy."
Q: "Why are your products better than the products at my local drug store?"
A: "Because of mymany years of experience with literally hundreds of different skincare products, both over the counter and professional cosmesuetical grade products, I have seen the superior results that the products we carry at the spa produce... In many cases, dramatic results. There are literally thousands of different skincare brands out there. I have used this experience to research these many brands for you. We offer only cosmeceutical grade products that get results... period. We will offer only the best!"
Q: What if I can't make to my scheduled appointment?"
A: "We ask for a 24 hour in advance courtesy call to reschedule. Our service providers get paid only if our guests make their appointments. Just as a guest would feel disappointed in having their appointment canceled, our service providers feel disapointed because they deserve to have the right to make an income. Also, many times our service providers have treatment regimens personally designed for your skincare needs. If you don't follow what is recommended, your service provider cannot guarantee the results you are looking for. We take your skincare needs very seriously... and ask that you do the same."
